Port Jeff Student Advances to National Merit Finalist Round

From Port Jeff Schools: Earl L. Vandermeulen High School senior Annalisa Welinder has advanced to the finalist standing in the 64 th annual National Merit Scholarship Program.

The academically talented student took the qualifying test as a junior and is now among approximately 15,000 high school students nationwide who were awarded the distinction. In the next several months, approximately half of those students will be selected to receive a Merit Scholarship award, which is based on their abilities, skills and achievements. Annalisa is an accomplished and well-rounded student who excels in academics, music and athletics. Her finalist designation exemplifies the school district’s high level of student achievement and academically rigorous program for all students.
