Port Jefferson Valedictorian and Salutatorian Named
District announces the top two students of the Class of 2015.

Earl L. Vandermeulen High School has announced Noah Davis and Natalia Zaliznyak as the Class of 2015 valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively.
Davis and Zaliznyak have earned the top spots in their class through their impressive and outstanding commitment to academics.

Davis has earned a number of academic accomplishments throughout his high school career. He is an AP Scholar with Distinction, participates in Cold Spring Harbor’s Partners for the Future research program and is a member of the Science Olympiad team. In 2013, Davis was named a semifinalist in the Siemens Foundation Competition in Math, Science and Technology. He has also submitted for a patent for an environmentally friendly flame-retardant. Additionally, Davis is an athlete, playing on his school’s basketball and baseball teams. Davis plans to attend Duke University in the fall and study biomedical engineering.
Zaliznyak has also received a number of academic accomplishments. She is an she is an AP Scholar with Distinction, a National Merit semifinalist and has participated in the Siemens Science Research program at Stony Brook University. She is also a member of the Latin Club, and the academic and Science Olympiad teams. Outside of school, she teaches math enrichment and is part of a local Russian theater group. Zaliznyak plans to attend Yale in the fall and study Molecular biophysics.
