Port Jefferson Students Perform at 9/11 Ceremony

The Edna Louise Spear Elementary School’s select choir, led by Jessica Pastor, performed at the Port Jefferson Fire Department’s Sept. 11 ceremony, which was held at the firehouse.
During the somber and unifying ceremony, students, including Emily Hearney, Annie Maier, Caelan Schretzmayer, Kate Sommerstad and Kasumi Layne-Stasik sang both “The Star-Spangled Banner” and “God Bless the USA.”
Also in attendance at the ceremony were members of the Port Jefferson School District’s administration and Board of Education, as well as Sen. Kenneth LaValle.
