Shelter Pet of the Week: Meet Petunia

Petunia is a Siberian Husky puppy who is small for now, but will need a home that can handle a large breed of dog.

Recently, a local puppy store was closed down and the remaining 16 puppies were brought to of Port Jefferson Station. Petunia is just one of the many puppies that are full or mixed-breed and can now be found at the shelter for a nominal donation.

Petunia is a Siberian Husky pup with beautiful blue eyes. After spending most of her life at the puppy store, she would love to have a home for herself where she can stretch out and be able to cuddle up with a human companion. Huskies require some brushing, but their coats are easy to maintain. Though Petunia is small now, she may grow to be about 60 pounds or possibly more, so be prepared to have a dog of this size.

Petunia is spayed and up-to-date on her routine shots. Since she is so young, her owner will have to work on housetraining her.
