2 Rescued From Sinking Boat Near Half Moon Bay
Nassau County police dispatched a marine rescue crew after receiving a call Friday afternoon about a boat in distress.
SANDS POINT, NY — Two people were rescued Friday after their boat started to sink near Half Moon Bay, authorities said.
According to the Nassau County Police Department, authorities received a 911 call around 4:05 p.m. about a sinking boat in Sands Point. Police dispatched a rescue crew to aid the 2022 Formula boat, authorities said.
According to police, two passengers on the boat — a 41-year-old woman and a 49-year-old man — were brought onboard a passing vessel.

Neither passenger was injured, police said.
