4 Port Washington Schools Rank Among New York State's Best
Niche ranked the best schools in 2020, and four from Port Washington earned honors.

PORT WASHINGTON, NY — Niche.com released its annual rankings of best schools across the nation, and four schools from the Port Washington Union Free School District ranked top-100 in New York State in their respective categories.
Here are the best schools in the area and their rankings:
- Paul D. Schreiber Senior High School — ranked 21st best public high school in New York.
- Carrie Palmer Weber Middle School — ranked 37th best public middle school in New York.
- John Philip Sousa Elementary School — ranked 83rd best public elementary school in New York.
- Guggenheim Elementary School — ranked 99th best public elementary school in New York.
Port Washington Union Free School District also ranked as the 16th best school district in New York State, and the 9th best school district on Long Island.

Each New York district received a letter grade in the following categories: academics; diversity; teachers; college prep; clubs & activities; health & safety; administration; sports; food; and resources & facilities.
Niche determined the rankings by looking at data from the U.S. Department of Education as well as test scores, college data, and ratings collected from Niche users. (You can read more about the methodology here.)
