
Spencer Cohen, a former fashion retailer with vast experience in retail real estate has joined the growing roster of star brokers at Garden City, N.Y.-based Sabre Real Estate Group LLC, the metropolitan area’s newest retail brokerage firm. He is a senior associate.
Most recently involved in in-house leasing and lease management for 140 retail and office spaces in Manhattan and Queens with Vantage Management Services, Cohen over the years has been involved in all aspects of the retail real estate business including shopping center and street leasing and tenant representation.
In addition to Vantage, Cohen worked in-house for Urstadt Biddle Properties, Procida Construction, Big M Inc. (Mandee’s and Annie Sez), and Welco Realty. He has completed leasing, sales and disposition transactions and managed leased portfolios in urban and suburban shopping centers and business districts throughout the tri-state area. He began his career in real estate in 1998 after operating multiple upscale fashion clothing stores on Long Island and Westchester under the Coda and Gauze and Effect brands.
“Spencer Cohen’s extensive relationships with landlords, brokers and retailers and his background in landlord and tenant leasing gives him a unique perspective to help his clients attain their commercial real estate goals,” said Jayson Siano, managing principal of Sabre. “He will be an important member of our growing team of brokers.”
Cohen, who holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Queens College, lives in Port Washington with his wife, Linda, a retail and wholesale fashion consultant and personal shopper. They have two adult children.
He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and The Retail Network.
