'Animal Rescue Truly Takes A Village:' Nearly 50 Dogs Rescued By North Shore Animal League America

The animal rescue partnered with 2 other organizations to bring the pups to safety.

PORT WASHINGTON, NY — Nearly 50 dogs and puppies were rescued on Wednesday morning by North Shore Animal League America and its shelter partners.

The NSALA, Partners! Canines, and Flying Fur Animal Rescue worked together to bring these pups to safety. The pups came from North Carolina, where the Partners! Canines is based.

The pups were rescued locally, some from municipal shelters, and were fostered by the Partners! Canine shelter.

"Because of this lifesaving teamwork, almost 50 precious souls now have the chance to live, to heal, and one day soon, to change someone’s world forever," the NSALA wrote on Facebook. "That’s the power of rescue."

The animal rescue said the pups are now safe in their care at its Port Washington campus. The dogs and puppies will receive comprehensive veterinary care, a place to sleep safely, food, and care from their volunteers and workers.

NSALA said rescue is powerful, but can be expensive – they are always accepting donations through their website.
