The Art Guild - Call For Nassau County High School Artists
Submission Deadline October 12, 2018

The Art Guild invites all Nassau County High School students to submit artworks for consideration for the annual “Nassau County High School Student Juried Art Competition and Exhibition.” All high school students in grades 9-12 are invited to submit up to two artworks for consideration (no photography). The deadline for submissions is midnight October 12, 2018. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to exhibit their work in a professional award-winning gallery setting. The show will be on view at The Art Guild's home, Elderfields Preserve, 200 Port Washington Blvd., Manhasset, NY 11030, from Saturday, November 3 through Sunday, November 25. Gallery hours are Saturdays and Sundays from 1 - 5 pm or by appointment. An Artists Reception and Awards Ceremony will be held on Sunday, November 4from 3-5 pm. Last year, the exhibit featured 56 works by 39 students, from both public and private schools, throughout Nassau County. The exhibit is sponsored by PM Pediatrics, Blick Artist Materials in Carle Place, and Arizona Iced Tea.
The Juror-of-Awards for the show is artist and educator Stephanie Navon-Jacobson. She started teaching art and printmaking after a career as a graphic designer and joined the faculty at St John’s University 2001. Stephanie has been a member of our High School Scholarship committee and has been the juror of awards for several of The Art Guild’s High School Exhibits. Stephanie teaches drawing and printmaking at The Art Guild, Art League of Long Island and Great Neck Adult Program.

The Art Guild of Port Washington, Inc. is located at Elderfields Preserve, 200 Port Washington Blvd., Manhasset New York. The Art Guild is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization providing encouragement, education and a forum for the appreciation of the visual arts.
