Auditions for "Bye, Bye Birdie" at The Community Synagogue Theater Company

All Adults and Teens are Welcome to Audition on Wed October 7th

The Community Synagogue Theater Company is a newly formed theater group in Port Washington and they are pleased to announce open auditions on Wednesday Oct 7th for their production of “Bye, Bye Birdie”. The original 1960–61 Broadway production was a Tony Award–winning success and included Dick Van Dyke and Chita Rivera. In 2009, The Roundabout Theatre Company‘s limited-run Broadway revival starred John Stamos. “Bye Bye Birdie” is about an Elvis Presley type rock singer who travels to a small Ohio town to make his “farewell” television performance and kiss his biggest fan before he is drafted into the army.

Auditions will be held at the Community Synagogue, 160 Middle Neck Road Port Washington on Wednesday October 7th from 6:30-9:00 PM. Performances will be January 31st, February 4th and February 6th at the Landmark Theater in Port Washington. The director is Joe Marshall and the musical director is Jake Glickman. All roles are open and adults and teenagers are encouraged to audition (please contact the producer for information on children’s roles) Please bring a short song with music for the accompanist. Callbacks will be held on Thurs Oct 8th. Those contacted to attend callbacks will be asked to read from the script and should come prepared for a short dance audition.
