Baxter Estates Gets $75K in State Funding to Modernize Village Hall

The state funding will be use for a Town Hall infrastructure improvement project.

The Village of Baxter Estates will receive $75,000 in state funding to make infrastructure improvements to Village Hall.

The renovations will enhance the accessibility and comfortability of Village Hall for local residents. Some renovations will include.

  • Replacing the emergency generator with a new, modern unit to allow the Village to better serve residents during a storm, power outage, or emergency situation.
  • Installing new air conditioning.
  • Creating a new restroom to accommodate individuals with disabilities.

The state funding was secured for the Village thanks to Senator Jack M. Martins.

“Baxter Estates Village Hall is the central hub for its operations and an important public resource utilized by the community,” Martins said in a press release. “Modernizing it through these improvements will help the Village better serve the residents of Baxter Estates.”

Work on this infrastructure improvement project is expected to begin mid-2016 and be completed in the fall.

“This generous grant allows us to update Village Hall to better serve our residents, especially during emergencies,” Village of Baxter Estates Mayor Nora Haagenson said.
