Shakedown Citi is a fresh new force on the jam band scene, born in 
the heart of a Grateful Dead parking lot at Citi Field. Rather than 
imitating the Dead, Shakedown Citi channels their spirit – creating 
spontaneous, soulful performances that feel alive, adventurous and 
totally in the moment. Each set is a journey, full of unexpected twists,
 deep grooves and musical conversation that pulls even the most 
skeptical listener into the vibe. It’s not just a tribute – it’s the 
Dead, reborn.
Bring a picnic dinner, snack, or beverage, or take advantage of one 
of our great food trucks.&nbsp; Come at 6pm to peruse these awesome vendors 
before the concert starts at 6:45pm:

Shakedown Citi is a fresh new force on the jam band scene, born in

Join us for a walking tour through 
history! Our expert docent will lead you across the Preserve to discover
 the history of the buildings and grounds, from the Goulds to the 
Guggenheims and beyond. This tour will begin outside Castle Gould, 
followed by a walk to the freshwater pond, and ending in the grand rooms
 of Hempstead House.
Please note this program is strictly for adults and children 12+. 
This is an energetic walking tour involving uneven terrain, hills, and 
stairs. Close-toed walking shoes are recommended.

Join us for the third year of our Wilderness Survival series! Ideal
 for beginners and seasoned enthusiasts alike, this series is led by 
survival enthusiast Mike Evans. Dive into essential survival skills, 
from emergency preparedness to advanced bushcraft techniques, exploring 
key concepts like the Rule of 3s and the 5 Cs. Perfect for those 
starting their journey or looking to deepen existing skills, these 
workshops offer a platform to learn, share experiences, and connect with
 a community passionate about self-sufficiency and nature.
These workshops are for adults, but children 14+ are welcome with an accompanying adult. Programs are held outdoors, so dress for the weather.&nbsp; Bring sturdy footwear, gloves and&nbsp;a hand towel to each event.

About the instructor:
Michael A. Evans is the founder and CEO of Synchronicity Coaching 
Inc., a Long Island–based organization dedicated to helping people 
connect mind, body, and community through experiential learning. Under 
the Synchronicity umbrella, Michael has created and led programs across 
multiple disciplines — including Forgotten Skillz (ancestral crafts and 
sustainability), Ninja Née (STEM and science adventures for kids), and 
Vision Martial Arts (child development–based martial arts training).
With a background in coaching, education design, and holistic

Wilderness Survival Series:  Foraging for Food and Medicine

In 2026, the acclaimed chamber music series Four Seasons in Music 
celebrates its eighth season under the inspired direction of Artistic 
Director Kathryn Lockwood. Set amidst the breathtaking beauty of The 
Preserve’s historic Hempstead House, Castle Gould, and picturesque 
waterfront grounds, this distinctive series presents four seasonal 
concerts. Each performance weaves together music and poetry, inviting 
audiences to connect deeply and reflect meaningfully throughout the 
year.
The Preserve’s ensemble-in-residence duoJalal (Kathryn Lockwood and 
Yousif Sheronick) is joined by a rotating roster of internationally 
celebrated musicians. Together, they deliver dynamic performances 
spanning classical masterworks by Beethoven, Bach, and Mozart to works 
by today’s globally diverse composers. Each concert concludes with a 
themed reception, inviting guests to mingle with the artists and fellow 
music lovers in an atmosphere of warmth and community.

“Summer’s Day” celebrates heritage, resilience, and 
the ways music carries culture forward. Inspired by the idea of braided 
traditions and the immigrant fabric of the United States, the program 
brings together Indigenous voices and new musical visions. Works by Dawn
 Avery, Jessie Montgomery, Jessica Meyer, Rebecca Clarke, Charles Yang, 
and George Gershwin join the lyricism of Johannes Brahms and Wolfgang 
Amadeus Mozart and the folk-inspired spirit of Antonín Dvorák. Together 
they form a woven musical narrative that honors cultural roots, shared 
histories, and the connections that unite them.

Main Street

Port Washington’s popular summer street festival, Port Promenade, returns to Main Street for two Thursday evenings this summer — June 18 and July 16, 2026 — from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. each night. On June 18, Main Street will be closed from Library Drive to Central Drive. On July 16, the event will move to Upper Main Street, with closures from Port Washington Boulevard to Mackey Avenue.
The car-free, family-friendly event will feature live music, outdoor dining, shopping, and activities for all ages. Attendees are encouraged to check the Try Port First app for updates, entertainment schedules, and event details.
Port Promenade is co-hosted by the Port Washington BID, Port Washington Chamber of Commerce, and Landmark on Main Street, with support from the Town of North Hempstead and the Port Washington Police Department. Port Washington BID and Precision Work, Inc. are the event sponsors.
