Clark Botanic Garden's 50-Year History Showcased In Documentary

ALBERTSON, NY—A six-minute documentary spotlighting the 50-year history of the Clark Botanical Garden produced by the Town of North Hempstead was recently released, the Town announced.
The documentary was produced by North Hempstead TV (NHTV) and covers the history of Clark Botanic Garden from its days as the home of Grenville Clark and his wife, Fanny Dwight Clark in the 1920s to its acquisition by the Brooklyn Botanical Garden in 1966, to its final stop as one of North Hempstead’s parks in 1989. The 12-acre garden is located at 193 I U Willets Road, Albertson.
“Clark Botanic Garden not only serves as a peaceful and beautiful place to visit, but it also has an important role as a living museum and educational facility,” Supervisor Judi Bosworth stated via press release. “Clark and its staff are dedicated to teaching visitors to understand and appreciate the world's plant life through horticulture, education and research. This wonderful documentary gives viewers a real appreciation of the garden’s place in local history.”

The film was written and produced by Carole Trottere and directed by Alan Ginsberg, NHTV studio director.
