Classes in Watercolor and Drawing Offered at The Art Guild

The Art Guild is offering classes in watercolor and drawing for adults this fall.

Watercolor for All Levels with Eileen Neville on Wednesdays (eight weeks, beginning September 16) 9 AM - noon. Watercolor is a truly diverse medium. Explore techniques – learn washes, wet on wet painting, glazing and dry brush methods. We will begin to understand the properties of pigments and when to use them properly. More advanced students create a series of more complex paintings and complete their own interpretations of projects presented in class.

Drawing: Sharpen Up! For all levels with Stephanie Navon-Jacobson on Mondays (eight weeks, beginning October 26) 1-3:30pm. Learn to see and refine your hand/eye coordination while exploring the basic fundamentals of drawing: composition, line, form, texture, value and perspective. Regardless of your chosen media, a good drawing is crucial to a successful outcome. Whether you have little or no experience or wish to hone your abilities, this class will sharpen your skills and power of observation. Graphite, pen and ink, charcoal, markers, use of color and collage are some of the materials that may be used. This class is open to all levels and experience.

• There is still room in a two-day workshop for adults, The Art of the Still Life In Oils with Gregg Kreutz, on September 19-20. This workshop will focus on the drama in still life; how to turn simple props – pots, fruit, flowers, baskets – into compelling dramas of light and shadow.
