Annual Long Island Fairy Festival Returns to Sands Point Preserve

Annual Long Island Fairy Festival Returns to Sands Point Preserve

The annual Long Island Fairy Festival returns with a whimsical escape from the everyday, inviting guests to step into a world of wonder and imagination that awakens the senses. Now in its fourth year, the Long Island Fairy Festival takes place Saturday, May 2, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. across the breathtaking natural landscape of Sands Point Preserve. The rain date is May 3.

The festival is an opportunity for guests of all ages to slow down, create with their hands, and reconnect with both the environment and one another. Surrounded by towering trees, fresh air and the quiet magic of the natural world, attendees can immerse in a day of storytelling, art and play.

“Through creativity, connection, and time spent in nature, we’re reminding people that innovation doesn’t only come from machines—it comes from curiosity and shared human experience,” said Linda Nutter, Fairy Festival Director. “At a time when so much of life is mediated by technology, the Fairy Festival becomes a gentle but powerful act of balance, grounding us in the beauty, mystery and joy of the real world.”

“This is our fourth year, and the festival keeps growing,” said Jeremiah Bosgang, Executive Director of Sands Point Preserve Conservancy. “We’re seeing people come from all over Long Island to be part of something that sparks imagination and brings a real sense of wonder and togetherness.”

This year’s festival promises to be more enchanting than ever, expanding on last year’s impressive turnout, which welcomed guests from 145 different communities on Long Island and beyond, as well as eight sponsors, 30 community partners, and nearly 100 volunteers and educators. The event also featured 93 fairy-house builders, 47 exhibiting artists, and 40 performers and technicians.

A Magical Lineup of Experiences

This year’s festival features a rich lineup of immersive activities and performances. New this year are a special Meet and Greet with the Queen of the Celestial Fairies; The Ranger Grove, offering hands-on wilderness skills; a Meet and Greet with Miss New York Teen USA; and an opportunity to learn how to connect with Fairy Guides.

Additional features include:

·The beloved Fairy House Walk, showcasing enchanting creations by community builders
