CURTAINS UP (sponsored by HEARTS PW) presents: Seussical Jr.
Oh the Thinks You Can Think When You Think About Seuss!

After a 2 year hiatus due to Covid, Curtains Up (an elementary musical theatre program for the Port Washington School District) is back and in person! Sponsored by a generous grant from HEARTS (Helping Enrich the Arts in Port Washington), Curtains Up allows students in 4th and 5th grade to participate in a full musical theatre experience.
Seussical Jr. tells the tale of when many famous Dr. Seuss characters and stories collide into one fantastic, and wacky, story. The Cat in the Hat transports the audience to the Jungle of Nool where we meet Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child who gets in trouble for thinking too many "thinks." Horton must not only protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must also guard an abandoned egg that's been left in his care by Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping, and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, friendship, community, and the special thinks of a young child emerge triumphant and encourage all who watch to “think, dare, and dream as boldly as Dr. Seuss.”
Performances of Seussical Jr. will be held on Friday, June 10th at 7:00pm and Saturday, June 11th at 2:00pm in the Weber Middle School auditorium. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students (K-12) and senior citizens (65+), and children five and under are free! Tickets may be purchased online (http://curtainsup.seatyourself.biz) with limited tickets available at the door.
