• Skeletal Remains Found in Manhasset Park May Be Missing Elderly Woman, Police Say (newsbreak.com) — Skeletal remains were discovered in Manhasset's Plandome Pond Park, just off the Port Washington Branch of the LIRR, and police believe they may belong to an elderly woman who went missing late last year. Investigators have closed park entrances and are combing the wooded area between the tracks and pond while awaiting medical examiner confirmation and determining whether foul play is involved. 
• Mepham football's Adam Erlichman, Paulie Genovese help team get right vs. Valley Stream Central (newsday.com) — Mepham's football team recently edged out Port Washington 7-6, a close Nassau County matchup that local fans may have followed, before bouncing back with a big 50-15 win over Valley Stream Central.
