Discover 'Bugs with Wings' at Sands Point Preserve

A family nature program at the Guggenheim Estate, where membership helps support the site's buildings and grounds

At "Bugs with Wings," children and their caregivers will discover metamorphosis, molting, and mating of the butterflies, dragonflies, honeybees that call the Preserve home. This family and nature program takes place Saturday, May 7, at Sands Point Preserve.

The event features indoor and outdoor stations that include stories, art projects, and visits to the habitats that attract these bugs with wings. Start any time between 11 am and 12:30 pm.

Admission for this program is $5 per car for members, and $15 per car for non-members.

Bugs with Wings is just one of many offerings designed especially for children and their caregivers. Upcoming programs taking place this month include Family Yoga and Sands Point Preserve Clean Up on May 14, and Hunt for Fossils on May 21.

Sands Point Preserve Conservancy is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization with the mission to protect and preserve the 216-acre waterfront grounds and historic mansions and to provide a range of cultural arts events and educational programs for families and schools in the Phil Dejana Learning Center and Outdoor Classroom.
