Drive-In Movie Series Returns To Port Washington
Screenings will include popular films like "Wonder Woman 1984," "Black Panther," "The Karate Kid," "Monsters, Inc.," and "Up."

NORTH HEMPSTEAD, NY â The worldâs most famous Amazon will return to the big screen in âWonder Woman 1984,â along with other beloved characters this summer, as part of North Hempstead Townâs popular drive-in movie series.
The series, which will also feature recent releases like âThe Greatest Showman,â as well as classics like âThe Karate Kid,â kicks off in May at North Hempstead Town Beach Park in Port Washington.
The screenings are free, but town officials are encouraging attendees to bring non-perishable or canned foods as part of its food donation drive.

The upcoming screenings will include:
- Saturday, May 8, at 8:30 p.m. â âBraveâ
- Saturday, May 22, at 8:30 p.m. â âWonder Woman 1984â
- Saturday, June 12, at 9 p.m. â âThe Karate Kidâ
- Sunday, June 27, at 9 p.m. â âJumanji: Welcome to the Jungleâ
- Saturday, July 17, at 9 p.m. â âThe Greatest Showmanâ
- Sunday, Aug. 1, at 9 p.m. â âThe Boss Babyâ
- Saturday, Aug. 14, at 8:30 p.m. â âMonsters Inc.â
- Sunday, Aug. 29, at 8:30 p.m. â âUpâ
âBlack Pantherâ will also be screened at Martin âBunkyâ Reid Park in Westbury, which is the townâs âMovie on the Lawnâ location, on June 11 at 9 p.m.

Supervisor Judi Bosworth said town officials are proud to offer âfree and fun opportunities for families to enjoy a night out while still keeping safe with proper social distancing guidelines.â
âWith renewed popularity during the pandemic, our drive-in movie series is the perfect way to enjoy a film under the stars,â she added.
Advance registration for the movie screenings are not required, but residents must show proof of residency before entering the park, town officials said. Town officials will begin admitting cars to the park an hour prior to the start of the film. Restroom facilities will be available during the showings, officials said.
