Enjoy orienteering at Sands Point Preserve
The adventure is set for Saturday, April 16, at the Guggenheim Estate, where membership helps support the site's buildings and grounds.

Sands Point Preserve is hosting an orienteering adventure on Saturday, April 16, with a start time from anywhere between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Orienteering is an international sport that involves navigating diverse and often unfamiliar terrain by using a map and compass. The Preserve will offer two levels of instruction. The introductory program is geared for those who have never used a compass or need basic refresher instruction, offering opportunity to practice skills on a simple orienteering field course on the Preserve’s open lawn. Also available is a more challenging course set up as a scavenger hunt, where visitors can gather facts to solve a puzzle.
Bring a compass, though the Preserve will have a limited quantity to lend. This program is recommended for ages 8 and up.
