Family Yoga, Cleanup at Sands Point Preserve set for Saturday

Spend the day with family and friends at the Guggenheim estate, where membership helps support the site's buildings and grounds

Saturday offers two opportunities to connect with nature with family and friends at Sands Point Preserve Family yoga begins at 11 a.m., and the Preserve Cleanup starts at 12:15 p.m.

During family yoga, children and their caregivers will practice poses as well as stretch, bend, reach, and balance – all the while celebrating the wonders of spring at the Preserve. Bring a mat for each person, and wear comfortable clothing. This program runs from 11-11:45 a.m. Admission to this program for members is $5 per car, and non-members, $15 per car.

Then, help keep the planet healthy at The Sands Point Preserve CleanUp from 12:15-2:15 p.m. Besides being unsightly, litter contributes to the injury and death of wildlife. Make a difference by joining the Preserve’s volunteer effort as an individual, family, or group. For this program, there is free admission to the Preserve.

Families are encouraged to spend the day at the Preserve. Enjoy Family yoga at 11 a.m., bring a picnic lunch, and help take care of the Preserve’s beautiful grounds. Pre-registration is required for both programs.

Family yoga and the Preserve cleanup are just some of the upcoming programs at the Guggenheim Estate. Additional programs include Hunt for Fossils, a family and nature program, on May 21, and an exploration hike led by biologist Eric Powers for those 16 and up.
