"FRANKEN-KIWI : or The Modern Prometheus" ...Kiwi's 7th Solo Show

Frankenstein Art show ..Friday October 23rd, 2015.....9pm .... at Haven Art Studios ...located at 29 Haven Ave, Pt Wash NY....

To his fans it is with great sadness that we learn Marvin “Kiwi” Arevalo’s last art show in Port Washington will be next month. For the last 10 years Marvin has touched the town of Port Washington with his exciting artwork and outgoing personality. His local celebrity as an artist, teacher and socialite will soon be gone but will never be forgotten.

Excited to move on to the next chapter of his life and career outside of NY, but wanting to leave one last piece of his heart, Marvin has announced “FRANKEN-KIWI : or The Modern Prometheus”.

If you know Marvin, you know he decorates his Christmas tree with Jack-O-Lanterns and stuffs his thanksgiving turkey with candy corn. It is this severely disturbing obsession with all things Halloween that is the foundation for his upcoming show. Marvin will be showcasing traditional Halloween characters crafted with his original style, encompassing street art, mixed media and comic book illustration. A particular focus will be on the traditional story of Frankenstein written by Mary Shelly. Though many artists have taken creative liberties with Frankenstein in the past none were ever seen by Mary Shelly who wrote the original book and passed away before her story was illustrated. Are any of these illustrations true to Mary’s mind’s eye? Marvin wonders “What did Frankenstein look like to her? I’d like to throw the traditional concept of Frankenstein out and start from scratch. What did she envision?”

Come out on October 23rd and support Marvin in his last show and wish him farewell. Food & drinks will be served.
