HEARTS Grant Recipients Perform: Pop Choir and Woodwind and Brass Ensemble

Carrie Palmer Weber Middle School’s Spring concert on May 30th featured the

Chamber Orchestra directed by Ms Diane Fish, the Bucket Drum Ensemble

Directed by Mr. Jason Cherry, Chamber Choir directed by Mr. Matthew Gawronski,

The Jazz Workshop Ensemble directed by Mr. Jason Cherry, and The 7th and 8th

Grade Jazz Band directed by Ms. Elizabeth Andrew and Ms. Allison Friedman.

The auditorium was filled with parents and siblings who enjoyed the diverse

Musical selections.

Also featured were two special ensembles made possible by a grant from HEARTS,

Pop Choir directed by Mr. Matthew Gawronski and the Woodwind and Brass Ensemble

Directed by Ms. Elizabeth Andrew. During the school year, dedicated students rehearsed at 7:00 AM

for these two audition only groups in preparation for the Spring Concert.

Pop Choir and The Woodwind and Brass Ensemble will be performing on the PortFest

Mainstage on May 16th. PortFest is a music, arts and community festival and takes place

on May 16th 11:00 AM-5:00 PM on the Schreiber High School Campus.
