Historical Society Announces The Magical History Tour!
Join Us For Narrated Weekend Walking Tours Along Port Washington's Historic Bay Walk on Sunday!
The Cow Neck Peninsula Historical Society (www.cowneck.org) invites you to join us on The Magical History Tour - 90-minute, docent-led, narrated walking tours along Port Washington’s Historic Bay Walk. Magical History Tours will be held on Sundays, at 11:00 a.m. sharp and on the 1st Saturday of every month, from May 3rd through the end of October. Tours will start at the Town Dock and end at the Port North dock, across the street from Stop & Shop. Local history of the Port Washington peninsula will include the shell fishing industry, sand mining, local aviation (and the first commercial flights to Europe) as well as the development of the local waterfront. See Port Washington as you never have before! Reservations are required, and may be made online at Cow Neck’s website or Facebook page. Group size limited to 15 and the fee is $15 for adults, $10 for seniors (65+) and kids are just $1 (12 and under). Children in strollers or backpacks are free. Please wear comfortable shoes for the 1-mile tour. Walk-ins will be accommodated if the group size has not been met (please bring cash or check only on the day of the tour).
