LA Fitness Employee Stole Credit Cards From Locked Locker in NHP: Police

The Queens man used one of the stolen credits card at a local supermarket, police said.

NEW HYDE PARK, NY— An employee at LA Fitness in New Hyde Park was arrested Thursday for breaking into a locked locker and stealing a wallet containing multiple credit cards last month, police said.

According to authorities, Jamel Q. Miller, 27, of Far Rockaway, used a key to unlock a locker at LA Fitness, located at 1111 Marcus Ave., and removed the wallet on Nov. 17.

Miller then used the victim’s credit card to buy assorted merchandise at a local supermarket, police said.

The man was arrested Thursday at 11:30 a.m. while working at the health club.

He was charged with second degree forgery, fourth degree grand larceny and second degree identity theft. He will be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
