Library Hosts Annual Senior Center Art Show.

During the month of June, about 20 pieces of artwork created by members of the Port Washington Senior Citizens Center will be on display.

Compiled by the Center’s art teachers, Ed Balcourt (also a member of the Center), Barbara Silbert and Barbara Stein and their students, this year’s exhibit features a variety of mediums and subjects. As has been the case with previous years’ shows, the talent the students demonstrate is very impressive. Some had never painted before they joined the Senior Center, yet are extraordinarily talented.

A reception is being held on Monday, June 15 from 2:30 – 4:00 p.m. in the Hagedorn Room of the Library. The gathering is open to anyone wishing to join the art students and other members of the Senior Citizens Center, art teachers, members of the Board of Directors of the Center and elected officials.

Whether or not you plan on attending the reception on the 15th, please stop by the exhibit by June 30. If you or someone you know are interested in learning about its art or other classes and programs, call 516-883-6656.
