Hear & Question Candidates safely from home, 7 pm
The League of Women Voters of Port Washington-Manhasset (LWV) is proud to announce that it will hold another VIRTUAL Candidates' Forum on Tuesday, September 8, this time for Manorhaven Mayor. The time is 7 pm.
The place is wherever you and your computer or phone or other internet-accessing device are. Just log onto the LWV website at https://my.lwv.org/new-york/port-washington-manhasset, where the debate will be live-streamed.
The two candidates vying for the 2-year mayoral term are incumbent Jim (James) Avena of the Manorhaven Residents Party and Vinny (Vincent) Costa of the Manorhaven Liberty Party. Each will explain to viewers why they would do the best job.

To learn specific information, the LWV urges you to submit questions for the candidates both before and during the forum. Just e-mail them to LWV.Qs.PortWashington@gmail.com. The moderator will review questions in advance and can receive more electronically from vetters during the forum.
Manorhaven residents can then safely vote for their choice on September 15 from 6 am to 9 pm, at Manorhaven Village Hall. To prevent COVID transmission in the process, voters will enter in one door where they will be given - and required to wear - a mask and gloves, and disposable pen. After marking their ballot - socially distanced from others - they will exit from a second door.
