Man, 91, Critically Injured In Nassau Hit-And-Run: Police

BREAKING: The man was trying to cross the street when an SUV hit him, police say, and he suffered "severe trauma" in the hit-and-run.

ROSLYN HEIGHTS, NY — A 91-year-old pedestrian was critically injured in a hit-and-run in Roslyn Heights on Monday, Nassau police said.

A man was trying to cross Mineola Avenue, near Hillside Avenue, when he was struck by a dark-colored SUV heading north on Mineola Avenue at 5:12 p.m., police said. The driver kept going, police said.

The man suffered severe trauma and was transported to a local hospital where he is in critical condition, police said. Detectives are investigating.
