Manhasset School Earns Coveted Blue Ribbon Distinction

MANHASSET, NY — Nineteen schools in New York, including a high school in Manhasset, have earned the distinction of being National Blue Ribbon schools for 2019, the Department of Education announced Thursday. The Blue Ribbon honor "affirms the hard work of educators, families and communities in creating safe and welcoming schools where students master challenging and engaging content."

A total of 362 schools earned the title.

Each school that earns the award is either among the highest performing schools in the state or among the highest performing in closing the achievement gap.

In New York, the Blue Ribbon schools were:

A ceremony honoring the schools will be held in Washington D.C. in November.
