N. Hempstead Encourages Residents to Support Small Business Saturday
The Town is asking residents to consider spending around 10 percent of their holiday shopping at local businesses.

As the holiday season approaches, the Town of North Hempstead is encouraging residents to support local small businesses during Small Business Saturday.
Small Business Saturday, a national effort to bring shoppers to independently-owned local businesses, takes place Nov. 26, the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
The Town is asking residents to consider spending around 10 percent of their holiday shopping at these businesses.

“The holiday season is the ideal time to support our local business owners and local economy. Making a small shift in your spending can make a big difference to our businesses,” Town Supervisor Judi Bosworth said in a press release.
In 2015, 551 city, county and town officials, including the Town of North Hempstead, came together to support Small Business Saturday.

“Grab a friend and explore your local downtown stores this holiday season,” Executive Director of the Town’s BTDC Kim Kaiman said. “A small shift in your holiday spending to our local business owners, can make a huge difference when we decide to buy local.”
Town of North Hempstead Business and Development Corporation, Bosworth and the Town Board are supporting the initiative, which is a partnership between Women Impacting Public Policy and the Small Business Saturday Coalition.
