• 'Tennis Ball King' Kevin Has Watched His Friends Find Homes – Now He's Waiting For His Turn (patch.com) — Port Washington readers are being introduced to Kevin, a three-year-old terrier mix who has spent most of his life at North Shore Animal League America's local shelter after being rescued from Georgia. Nicknamed the shelter's "Tennis Ball King," he's house-trained, loves fetch, and is now hoping for an experienced adopter with an adults-only home and fenced yard in the area.

• North Hempstead sued over Sbarro family's Inspiration Wharf (newsday.com) — Port Washington residents, organized as the Mitchell Farms Neighborhood Association, have filed a lawsuit challenging North Hempstead's approval of a 38-unit mixed-use project at Inspiration Wharf on Manhasset Bay. They argue the town skipped a full environmental review, raised concerns about parking, stormwater, and too much paving, and fear the development could limit public access to the working waterfront and future promenade.
