N. Hempstead Offers Residents Free Health Screenings

North Hempstead residents of all ages will be able to receive free health screenings thanks to the Town’s "aging-in-place" initiative.

The Town is partnering with the St. Francis Hospital’s Community Outreach Program to offer screenings to elderly residents at various North Hempstead locations from April to December.

The screenings, which will be offered at the St. Francis Outreach Bus, will include a brief cardiac history, blood pressure screening, a simple blood test for cholesterol and diabetes screening.

“By offering these screenings at multiple locations throughout the Town we are providing easier access to high quality healthcare,” Supervisor Judi Bosworth said in a press release.

Health screenings will be held on the following locations:

Clinton G. Martin Park, located at 1601 Marcus Ave. in New Hyde Park, on Tuesday, April 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Magnolia Gardens, located at 899 Broadway in Westbury, on Thursday, April 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

North Hempstead “Yes We Can” Community Center, located at 141 Garden St. in Westbury, on Monday, May 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Manhasset Valley Residence, located at 155 East Shore Road in Manhasset, on Thursday, June 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Great Neck Social Center, located at 80 Grace Ave. in Great Neck, on Monday, June 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Sid Jacobson JCC, located at 300 Forest Drive in East Hills, on Tuesday, June 21 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Port Washington Senior Center, located at 80 Manhorhaven Boulevard in Port Washington, on Thursday, Aug. 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
