I want to honor the strength and courage of my seven year old son. His has this incredible ability to overcome and to make something so positive out of a tragic incident in his life.
Sometimes I feel heavy-hearted, with all he endured. Yet, I find that we are blessed that he is doing so well and we're grateful for the treatments available that helped save his life. We don't want to look back. We want to look ahead to many more happy celebrations! We recently celebrated a year cancer free! One candle we hoped for and pray for many more!
While in treatment we met many families with young children that are battling cancer. We Relay for all of these children and their families, to bring them hope.

When I asked my son to tell me why he runs, he says, "I run because I can!" and "I run for all of the children in the hospital that can't."
Relay For Life celebrates 11 years in Port on June 16 at . Last year's event attracted more than 350 attendees, 70 teams and raised an impressive $96,000 for vital cancer support services, research and advocacy. Relay for Life offers the Port Washington community a chance to come together to celebrate those who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease.
