• Bonded Brothers Left Behind After Owners Move, Now Seeking Home Together (patch.com) — Port Washington animal lovers are being introduced to Koala and Wallaby, a bonded pair of seven-year-old cats now living at North Shore Animal League America's local campus after being left behind when their owners moved. Staff describe Wallaby as shy but playful and Koala as affectionate, and they're hoping a Port Washington–area family will adopt the brothers together. 
• 21 Dogs Rescued From Manorhaven Boarding Facility: PD (patch.com) — Residents around Port Washington may be alarmed to learn that 21 neglected dogs were removed from a Manorhaven dog-boarding business on Shore Road after a late-night police response. Town of North Hempstead Animal Control and the Nassau County SPCA took custody of the animals, and authorities say the investigation into conditions at the facility is still ongoing.
• Newsday's top 25 Long Island girls tennis players for 2026 (newsday.com) — Port Washington tennis fans can cheer two standout Vikings on Newsday's list of the top 25 Long Island girls players for 2026, including a doubles team and a Nassau doubles champion.
