• Scott Reich named CEO of Peter & Jeri Dejana Foundation (longislandpress.com) — Port Washington resident Scott Reich has been named CEO of the Peter & Jeri Dejana Foundation, which expects to spend about $26 million this year on grants and operations centered heavily on Port Washington and Long Island. Reich, co‑founder of the Port Washington–based Believe in a Cure, says he hopes to deepen the foundation's local partnerships, storytelling, and long-term investments in community organizations.

• North Hempstead board tables Long Island Nets agreement amid questions over Yes We Can Center (longislandpress.com) — North Hempstead officials have delayed a new practice-facility deal with the Long Island Nets and again skipped a public budget workshop, prompting transparency concerns from Council Member Mariann Dalimonte. A Port Washington resident also challenged whether the Port Washington Water Pollution Control District should be running recreational programs and naming rights at Sunset Park, raising questions about how local sewer district powers are being used.
