Port’s Ken Kraft Receives Military Service Award

The Nassau County Police Department's first ceremony to honor active or retired military was held in June.

The Military Service Award ceremony held on June 4 marked the first time the Nassau County Police Department ever honored retired and active members who proudly served our country.

Port Washington resident Ken Kraft was among the honorees. Raised in Manorhaven, Kraft is now serving his second term as a Trustee for the Village in which he grew up and lives.

He served in the U.S. Army, where his assignments included Fort Hood, Texas and Vietnam. Kraft worked for the Nassau County Police Department for 37 years, serving in several different positions, including Supervisor in different departments.
