Schreiber Senior Abby Hurt Receives Award of Merit for Visual Arts

Port Washington, New York (September 2020)—A Paul D. Schreiber High School senior, Abby Hurt, in the Port Washington Union Free School District, was named a recipient of the Merit Award for Visual Arts by the Long Island Scholar-Artist Program. Abby was one of 20 student-artists on Long Island selected for her proficiency in visual arts and academics.

The Scholar-Artist program, a collaboration between Long Island Arts Alliance and Newsday, was designed to recognize the “best of the best” student artists on Long Island. Seniors are nominated by their school districts, and ten from both counties receive the program’s highest honor.
