Port Summer Show Celebrates 45th Anniversary with All Shook Up
The Port Summer Show will celebrate its 45th anniversary this summer by presenting the jukebox musical All Shook Up. Only two performances left: Sat. Aug 5 at 7:30 PM and Sun. Aug 6 at 2:00 PM in the newly renovated and air conditioned Paul D. Schreiber Auditorium at Schreiber High School in Port Washington. Tickets are $10 adults, kids under 12 years old and seniors are $5. Since 1972, The Port Summer Show has been producing top-quality Broadway musicals for the Port Washington community. Teenagers in grades 7-12 spend 5 ½ weeks working with a professional director and choreographer singing, dancing and rehearsing for the annual August production.
All Shook Up is a jukebox musical with the songs of Elvis Presley and a story based on Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. Taking place in 1955, the story combines one girl's dream with a surprise visit from a mysterious leather-jacketed, guitar-playing stranger to help a small town discover the magic of romance and the power of rock & roll. Among the 24 songs featured in the score are classics like "Heartbreak Hotel," "Love Me Tender," "Don't Be Cruel," "Can't Help Falling in Love," and “All Shook Up”. This highly energetic rock and roll musical will be fun for the whole family.

Celebrating 45 years, The Port Summer Show is a non-profit teen theater program that has been producing Broadway musicals since its early years performing at Port Washington’s John Phillip Sousa Bandshell. These productions give our town’s teenagers a unique opportunity to be involved in all aspects of a production, both on and off the stage. Parent volunteers are integral in creating and producing the shows each year. The Port Summer Show has commissioned a brand new logo for the newly-designed website (www.portsummershow.org ) which features hundreds of photographs from past and present shows. Information on parent volunteer activities can be found on the website, as well as alumni information and sign up.
This summer, The Port Summer Show will honor Robert Harding Jr, his family, and Harding Real Estate.
