“We hit really well yesterday,” said Coach Matt Holzer.
Heroes: Port Washington’s Aaron Feinberg and Danny Kaminsky. Despite losing the game and fielding and pitching struggles, Feinberg and Kaminsky kept the game close with strong hitting. Unfortunately they didn't get the win, but they can redeem themselves on Thursday when they close out the series at home against Herricks.
Turning Point: Port Washington had an 8-6 lead going to the bottom of the sixth. The first two batters reached bases on a walk and a single. The next two batters struck out. The following two Herricks batters hit a single and triple. The end result was three runs scored and Port Washing lost 9-8.
Quotable: “I am proud of my guys for the way we competed and I think we will bounce back Thursday,” said Coach Holzer.
Bottom Line: Port Washington needs wins to get the third and final playoff spot in its division.
