The first day of school is officially upon us. Here are all the other must-know dates for parents, students and teachers.

PORT WASHINGTON, NY — Summer break is nearly over for Port Washington students, who head back to school Wednesday. With that, parents and students in the Port Washington Union Free School District ought to know several important dates for the 2019-2020 school calendar.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

11/5: (Election Day/Superintendents Conference Day)

11/28 - 11/29: No school (Thanksgiving recess)

12/23-1/3: No school (Winter recess)

1/20: No school (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)

2/17 - 2/21: No school (President's Day/Winter Recess)

4/9-4/17: No school (Holy Thursday/Good Friday/Spring recess)

5/22-5/25: No school (Memorial Day)

6/26: Last day of school for students
