Port Washington Public Schools Closed Monday
District announces decision after blizzard strikes the region.

Port Washington Public Schools will be closed Monday following a blizzard that dumped more than two feet of snow across Long Island, district officials have announced.
Here’s the message on the district’s website from the Superintendent:
Schools Closed Monday, January 25, 2016
This is Dr. Kathleen Mooney with an important message from the Port Washington School District. Due to significant snow accumulations on streets and poor roads conditions, all schools will be closed on Monday, January 25, 2016. A special note of thanks to our custodial/maintenance staff for their tireless efforts this weekend to clear our schools, but the roads are not yet safe enough for the buses. Schreiber High School will provide information about the mid-term schedule in a separate message. As always, please exercise caution and stay safe.
Nearby: The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy will be open Monday with a two hour delay.
