Port Washington Receives 51 Grants from the Ed Foundation

The Port Washington Ed. Foundation Recently Presented the Port Washington School District With Over $150,000 in Grants

Port Washington N.Y. (October 2018)—The Port Washington Ed. Foundation recently presented the Port Washington School District with over $150,000 in grants to fund several programs that will enrich learning experiences for students at all grade levels. The organization subsidizes programs and extra-curricular activities that exceed the district’s basic educational initiatives, providing students with more opportunities to perform at their greatest potential.

The district hosted a ceremony in the Paul D. Schreiber High School cafeteria where 51 grants were awarded to district faculty members for different areas of study. The grants will be used towards numerous classes and programs including robotics, STEM, before-school exercise, virtual business simulation software, and many more. The administrators expressed their gratitude for the Port Washington community for their supportive efforts towards an inclusive educational environment.

The Ed. Foundation also presented Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kathleen Mooney with a proclamation to commemorate her exemplary service to the Port Washington School District. With her utmost professionalism and dedication to the community, Dr. Mooney has created a nurturing and effective academic environment throughout the district for more than 18 years.

The Ed Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to create an everlasting difference in the experience of students of the Port Washington School District. The organization actively works to seek donations, grants and government aided funding to distribute money where it is most needed in the district.
