Launched on the heels of the success of the first Momtrepreneur Fair in 2013 in partnership with Amanda Khalil's Port Washington Mama, MomTime Events has sought to gather the community together to turn ordinary experiences into extraordinary ones.
A squad of local college and high school “Bad Daughters” led by Alyssa Marshak helped volunteer to run the MomTime Event. Alyssa says, "I really enjoy working with Cynthia and corralling my friends to volunteer for her MomTime Events, this time as ‘bad daughters.’ We all had a fun time and we are all looking forward to being at her next event. Fun time with my friends and neighborhood moms while raising money for a good cause, what can be bad about that!!"

As the moms mixed and mingled, they were treated to a variety of naughty and nice sponsored tables by European Wax Center, Icon pee proof undies, Port Dadpreneur Josh Sternlicht’s Monster Estate Sales and highlighted two new mom based businesses Morgan Hollander’s Magic Mayah’s line of dream catchers and Stacey Saltzman’s Style Camp, fashion classes for kids.
Sternlicht says “it was a great and fun way to have face time with the women and gain leads for upcoming tag and estate sales, most of which are coordinated by the ladies of the house.”
Morgan Hollander is a new mom and when her mom made a dream catcher for her daughter, she was inspired to turn it into a business. Hollander says, “The 'Bad Moms' event gave me the catalyst I needed to just do it, put myself out there and chase my dreams. Together as a team, my mom and I decided the timing was perfect to work with Cynthia to launch our mother daughter business at her event for Moms! Cynthia guided me in how to prepare for my first business event and maximize the opportunity.”
Wings Plus provided the irresistible bites for the pre-film reception. Alissa Schindler provided chocolate bars to celebrate her scandalous new fantasy fiction book, “Secrets of the Suburbs”. The guests also enjoyed a surprise palette refresher of Tipsy Scoops spiked sorbet while being entertained by NYC Comedian Luchana Gatica before the film began.
Word from the moms was that "Bad Moms" was the funniest movie they’ve seen in years!
Women gathered up their friends, some attending in mass with groups of 10 or more for this night out. Sheila Hay who was there with her sister in law felt, “This was the absolute BEST way to see 'Bad Moms', sitting in a theater full of moms and laughing our hearts out as we recognized ourselves and our crazy lives up on that screen.”
Laura Silver McGuire, a regular at MomTime Events, rallied 18 of her friends to join and shares, “I love these events. More than the movies and wine though, I love the positive energy. This is more than a ladies night out; it's about strengthening ties within our community. Building our village. I always leave happy.”
Through raffles and collections, the event raised $700 for The Safe Center Long Island, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing programs and resources to adult and child victims of domestic abuse.
MomTime Events selects charitable partners for almost every event and for “Bad Moms” Cynthia says, “it was important to recognize how fortunate we are to come together as a community of women for a fun night out. It is a privilege denied to many women around the world. Together we got to do some good while being bad moms.”
Upcoming MomTime Movie Events in the works include “Embrace”, a film about women’s body image this Fall and an Earth Day Spring event for the film “Planetary” at Landmark on Main Street.
