On Sunday, April 22, people of all ages and abilities will join together at the Sands Point Preserve for Helen’s Run/Walk 2018. The annual 5K/3.1 mile event benefits Helen Keller National Center for Deaf-Blind Youths & Adults (HKNC) and its mission to support those living with combined vision and hearing loss.
Deaf-blind student Elizabeth Aguilera (pictured above at last year’s Helen’s Run/Walk) is featured in a new video stating, “This event is for everyone. Deaf-blind, hearing, sighted — come down and join the fun! Jump on board and walk or run. Whatever floats your boat! It’s a great opportunity to meet the community. All the money raised goes straight to supporting the training and advocacy needs of deaf-blind people at HKNC.”
