Roslyn Man Surrenders to Cops After 8-Hour Standoff: Police
Authorities shut down several roads near the man's home as a safety precaution Tuesday.

An armed Roslyn man surrendered to authorities Tuesday after police say he was in a standoff with Nassau County Police for several hours, causing many nearby roads to be shut down.
Officers responded to a Tatterson Street home to serve court-related documents to find Steven Liebman, 50, inside the residence pointing what appeared to be a rifle at them at 2 p.m., police say.
The officers retreated and notified Nassau County Police, who set up a perimeter and shut down nearby roads for public safety.

Liebman surrendered to authorities after approximately eight hours, police say. No injuries were reported.
He was charged with second-degree menacing and second-degree obstructing governmental administration.

Liebman will be arraigned Wednesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
