Schreiber Student Receives Gold Coast Family Dental Scholarship

The scholarship winner will be headed to Cornell University in the fall.

A Paul D. Schreiber graduate was the recent recipient of Gold Coast Family Dental's 13th annual scholarship.

Kanji Katayama was awarded a $500 college scholarship for his excellence in academics and athletics.

“The ability to give back to neighborhood where I was raised and now work is very gratifying," Dr. Doron Keren, of Gold Coast Family Dental of Port Washington, said in a press release. Dr. Keren was a 1979 graduate of Schreiber. "This small award can help a student pay down student debt or perhaps the expensive books for the first year of school."

To qualify for this scholarship, students must excel in both academics and athletics and must display interest in pursuing a career in the sciences or medicine.

Katayama will be headed to Cornell University in the fall. He is an avid soccer player and trains at the gym when he is not busy studying.
