Shelter Rock Kindergartners Participate In Flashlight Friday

Students in Suzanne Mauro’s kindergarten class at Shelter Rock Elementary School in Manhasset celebrated both Feel Good Friday and Flashlight Friday on Oct. 23. During the special event, students used flashlights during Reader’s Workshop in the classroom.

Kindergartners were able to read aloud to some special guests such as Principal Richard Roder, Assistant Principal Paulette Williams and Administrator for Assessment and Data Analysis Adam Kuranishi. Students also learned about connecting words, such as “and then,” and used these phrases in their own books.
