Spotlight on 16 Handles - Shop for HEARTS on Feb. 4

On Feb 4th, Shop local from 4:00-8:00 PM while supporting HEARTS and the arts in PW!

If winter and snow in Port Washington has you feeling bleak, come join HEARTS as we chase away the winter blues and paint the town red! Join us for HEARTS month with many opportunities to celebrate the arts while donating to a great cause!

On Thursday February 4th, Shop for HEARTS and celebrate the arts while supporting both HEARTS and our local small business retailers. From 4:00 – 8:00 PM, look for small businesses with the HEARTS logo on the door, who are donating a portion of their sales to HEARTS. Some businesses are donating a portion of the entire day’s sales, so please go to www.heartspw.org for a complete list of local businesses and promotions. Please be sure to mention the magic password “HEARTS” when making a purchase or taking a class.

16 Handles is just one of our local business sponsors that is proud to support HEARTS on Shop for HEARTS night on Feb 4th. 16 Handles is just a fun place to hang out and get some great quality yogurt. They have been in the town for five years and it has become a great hangout for kids after school and families at night. You can always find the latest pop songs on the radio and cartoons on the big screen TV. Most of their yogurt is now all natural from their own dairy in the Midwest with over 50 toppings to choose. And don’t forget that they also make fresh smoothies as well!

Owner Scott Silverman remarked “I have lived near Port for over 20 years and it is what I would call a ‘cozy, friendly’ town. Main Street is so quaint and has many restaurants and cuisines to choose from. It’s a great town to take a walk in.”

When asked about his involvement in the arts, he said, “As far as the arts, I grew up in New Jersey and actually participated in some plays in school from about 13-15 years of age. I still remember playing Charlie Brown in middle school and I had to make an entire speech with a paper bag over my head! I did enjoy the theater and singing very much until sports took too much of my time.”
