Spotlight on Haven Art Studio - Shop for HEARTS on Feb. 4

If winter and snow in Port Washington has you feeling bleak, come join HEARTS as we chase away the winter blues and paint the town red! Join us for HEARTS month with many opportunities to celebrate the arts while donating to a great cause!

On Thursday February 4th, Shop for HEARTS and celebrate the arts while supporting both HEARTS and our local small business retailers. From 4:00 – 8:00 PM, look for small businesses with the HEARTS logo on the door, who are donating a portion of their sales to HEARTS. Some businesses are donating a portion of the entire day’s sales, so please go to www.heartspw.org for a complete list of local businesses and promotions. Please be sure to mention the magic password “HEARTS” when making a purchase or taking a class.

Haven Art Studio is first and foremost a community based studio. They offer a wide variety of arts and sewing instruction for both adults and children. They are a full-fledged ceramic studio with various ceramic classes both during the day, after school and in the evening. Haven Arts Studio has sewing classes utilizing real singer sewing machines. After school sewing has become one of their most coveted classes. Drawing, painting, and many other specialized classes take place after school as well.

A popular activity is Painting Your Own Pottery, which is loads of fun if you don’t feel like MAKING IT in our ceramic studio. Birthday parties at Haven Arts Studio include instructional painting for kids, sewing parties, t-shirts and pillow parties and of course clay parties. You name it, they can do it. Haven Art Studio’s staff is highly qualified with artists/teachers that are loyal, dedicated and caring!

When describing Haven Arts Studio, owner Heidi Stevens mentioned “We also have a full gallery upstairs where we showcase all local artists. Most of our ceramic work sold in the gallery is created by our extremely talented adults, students, and staff.”

When speaking of Port Washington, Heidi said, “What I love most about Port Washington is the water and proximity to Manhattan. I also love the community and all it has to offer.”

To benefit HEARTS, Haven Art Studio is offering two evening classes for adults. On Wednesday February 3rd , there will be an instructional painting class 7-9:30 PM . On Wednesday February 17th - from 7:30- 10:00 PM, they will be offering a beginner potter’s wheel session. (Limited to 9 students.) 10% of all proceeds from both classes will be donated to the HEARTS. On both days, gallery 10% of all purchases from the gallery will also be donated to HEARTS.
