Successful FOL Book & Author Luncheon Featured Pulitzer Prize Winner
An enthusiastic audience enjoyed author Ilyon Woo in conversation with Hofstra professor Kelly McMasters
On Friday, May 10, the Friends of the Library hosted its 55th Annual Book & Author Luncheon at The Garden City Hotel. An enthusiastic audience enjoyed the stimulating and moving conversation between Pulitzer Prize winner Ilyon Woo, author of the nonfiction bestseller Master Slave Husband Wife, and program moderator, essayist and Hofstra professor Kelly McMasters.
FOL President Pam O’Connell thanks all the attendees and event sponsors: “Your presence ensured the success of the luncheon as a literary event, a longstanding community tradition and a fundraiser for the FOL!” Monies raised from the event will help support many programs and services – including free museum passes, adult lectures, SoundSwap concerts, new items in the Library of Games and Gadgets, and new tech in the “Lab” – not funded by the library’s budget.
